From Ideas to Icing

Designing a wedding cake is a collaborative process. Are you the couple that comes with a clear direction? Or do you have a a few reference photos, a colour palette, or simply a feeling you want to capture? Both are welcome here.

I take time to understand not just how you want your cake to look, but how it fits into your day as a whole (the venue, the season, the table setting, and the atmosphere you’re creating). From there, we shape a design that feels intentional, balanced, and true to you.

Inquiry & Design

You complete a brief form (date, guest count, style, inspirations, dietary needs), then we meet to discuss your vision. I present design concepts with sketches, sample images, flavour ideas, and estimates, and we refine together until it’s perfect.

Booking, Tasting & Planning

Once you approve the design, I will send a contract and a deposit invoice to secure your date. If you choose a tasting, we schedule it (in-person or take-home) to finalize flavours while I coordinate details with your venue and planner.

Creation, Delivery & Enjoyment

I create your cake, from baking and decorating to sugar work, on a custom timeline. On your wedding day, I personally deliver and set it up so you can enjoy a beautiful, delicious centrepiece made with care and artistry.

I recommend securing your date as early as possible—especially for weekends and busy wedding seasons. Ideally 6 months ahead.

Every cake is custom, so the cost depends on design, servings, height, sugar work, complexity and a lot of other factors.

Yes. I frequently work with vegan, eggless, and gluten-aware options. During our planning, we’ll discuss how adjustments may alter structure or flavor, and I’ll guide you.

Changes: I’ll do my best to accommodate minor tweaks if the timeline allows. Cancellations: see contract terms (you may forfeit some/full deposit depending on timing).

Yes—I offer tasting sessions to help you select flavor combinations. (This is optional, though highly recommended, especially for multi-tiered cakes.)

I regularly deliver within the Ottawa region and beyond. We’ll review logistics early in the planning.

Yes. I plan carefully for your date and venue conditions. For outdoor/hot-weather weddings, I engineer structural supports, use stable buttercreams or coverings, and plan transportation accordingly.

After the cake contract has been reviewed and signed off, the full payment is immediately due.
